Three's a Party

Dear loved ones and liked ones,

So may I just start off by thanking all of you? I am always touched by how many people actually read this and are supporting me all of the way back home in the states. I know I'm not a writer and that most of the people I talk about chances are none of you will ever meet but yet every week I find out that more people are reading  this. I just wanted to make sure you all know how nice that is. Thank you for  reading :)

So last Monday after emailing, we  went over to a family's house for a family home evening and birthday party. The whole family (part of which isn't active)  came for  the birthday party but said that we could go one with the family home evening  but they didn't want to participate. The 16 year old boy that was in charge of the lesson had planned to do a testimony meeting. So we all went around the table and bore our testimonies. It was  so  powerful as  3 people who used to be inactive but have since come back bore their testimonies. To finish off the oldest sister (who was with her non member partner) began to cry and bear her testimony which inspired her little sister (who is probably the least interested in  the church in the  whole family) to share her testimony. They both cried and testified that Jesus lives, that they know the church is true and they know God hears and answers their prayers, that when times get tough they will kneel down and  pray and they feel an overwhelming  sense of peace. The spirit was so strong as I saw, for however brief a moment, this whole family who I have to come to love so much in tears because of the spirit that was in the room  that night.

A brief overview of some of the highlight lessons this week:

2  Lessons  with an 18 year old kid from Argentina who is so sweet! He is  very popular in Orrioles and goes to parties often. He said he drinks a little bit but mostly just to escape from his hard life  for  a while and to be social but after our lesson last night he asked us if we would include his  family in his prayers and then he added "and me too, I really want to know what is the right thing for me to do  right now in my  life"  it was so cute! He's great. He asks questions like: "what has your prophet said or done recently to make you know that he is a prophet?"
We had  a  really good  family  home  evening  with a less active  family and we made delicious empanadas. I am so excited  to come home and cook south american and spanish  food!
We taught a member's friend named Jose, he's from here, smokes everything, drinks, tattoos, dreads, you name it but the lesson went surprisingly well. He  said he loves  learning and that he  would  like to read the book of  Mormon and  come to church. Such a blessing!

A similar thing happened with Miguel Angel who also loves to learn and read so he  has invited us to start  teaching him regularly.

Thursday all of the trainers and the people getting  transferred had to leave  to go up to Barcelona super early. You  seriously wouldn't believe how many people there were at those training meetings! It was packed. I believe there were 44 missionaries and 42 trainers or  something it was crazy! That's two zones and a third of what the mission was when I got  here. My new companion's name is Hermana Barker, she is from  San Francisco, California and is seriously a doll! She joined the 5'3 and under club we have going on right now and I still haven't had a companion who is younger than me or from Utah (super odd). Transfers was also very fun because I got to see a lot of old friends.

Well I love you all like crazy and hope everything is going fantastic back at home. Let me know if there is anything I can include in my prayers.

My invitation: Cheer super loud for BYU football  for me  and go to the temple this month...not in that  order??

Disfruten la vida! Les quiero!

Hermana Tuttle
